It's about that time!!
Just got finished with our mandatory mini-camp. Things went pretty well. Everybody was there that could be there. We got alot of expectations this year (and alot of nay-sayers) so we definitely got to bring it!! I think this year will be completely different but I guess we just have to wait and see. It seems like just yesterday it was the Super Bowl and now the '08 season is right around the corner. Can't wait!!! Plus I need something to keep me outta trouble. LOL!! Other than that, all seems to be goin good on my end. How is everything goin with ya'll???

Alot of expectations this year for sure, but I don't look for the Raiders to be back in the play off hunt realistically until 2010.
I sure hope they prove me wrong and get there sooner!
How are our young receivers looking? I wonder if any of the new guys made a good impression?
Reports say Higgin's did well, then tapered off.
I may have mentioned, I think they'll certainly have an advantage over opposing DB's this year by practicing against you Hall and Aso!

How big is it for you guys at the Pro level to have top receivers on your team to go against in practice? I would think it's going to push you guys harder, and make you play better on game day. Also have you noticed a change in the speed of our two new FA receivers as opposed to late year?

Asomugha > Cromartie for sure... when the hell did that go up for grabs? I heard from some people around the league that say Asomugha is the BEST cover corner in the NFL today... hands down.
Stan, how's Gabril lookin out there? I know he's a San Jo native and grew up a Raider fan... I'm excited to see how he meshes with the rest of you all in the secondary...

Got some down time! Wonderin' besides Madden what you do? Any hobbies I'm missin' out on?
Liked how some of the major outlets are stating the obvious about pre season so far, "Alot of guys look good in shorts, but its not till the pads come on that you know what you've got."
Alot gets read into some of these practices, but its mostly to learn and get guys reps and evealuate rediness I would imagine.
Pretty incredible game.
I saw you mentioned "it is a job."
As a writer, maybe I look into it more than the average fan, but it sure seems like a strange way to make a living!
So much travel!
How do you keep from getting jet lagged!
Must be hard to sit for so long and then run at 100 mph. especially when they make you stand for the 1st quarter or so... "Okaaaaay NOW! Run in there and make a play!"
Don't even get to get used to the speed of the game...
Is it easier to start or play reserve?
I'm guessin' our man Stan's always gonna want the start!

The level athletes are at right now borders super human sometimes in my book. with the work outs, the travel grind (I feel you!) and slammin' into guys in peak physical condidtioning all them time...crazy...I can see why resting is your hobby!
I sure can appreciate the money paid especially when you consider how much the owners make for well, being owners.
At least you guys earn it!

Do you guys do anything with kids during the offseason? We have a camp near foxboro out here that I want to put my son in next year, they actually are not that expensive and they have Pats players like Kevin Faulk and Bruschi come down for the day and show them some moves. Only problem is my kid doesn't want to play football again this year.
:( I can't get him to get into it like his first year. He hates practice and being yelled at.
